Here we have a solid self portrait. The dark frame created by the clothes, shadow and hair really accentuate the image, and bring solid definition to the shadow play on the face.

VISION: 4 Stars

I see by the image that you had a plan in mind when this image was created, and you've done a good job in bringing your vision to life. There are some technical issues (mentioned later) that bring the image down slightly, but the fact that I can tell by looking quickly at the image that you had a story/mood that you wanted to convey, and that you used techniques powerfully to achieve that, gives this a good rating.

ORIGINALITY: 3 Stars

This is the lowest mark of the rating for your image. Nowadays it is genuinely hard to create a "new" image, so originality is always on a sliding scale. That being said, the idea of shadow play on the face created by blinds is not as original as it could be. 3.5 is not a low score by any means, but this is the weakest part of the image in my opinion.

TECHNIQUE: 4 Stars

As mentioned earlier the framing of the image, incorporating dark shirt, shadow and dark hair works well. My eyes are somewhat distracted by the light wall on image left, but this is tolerable. A tighter crop could help here though. The contrast is good, and the catch lights in the eyes are well done. You have done well placing your face so that your eyes catch the light properly. I'd like to see them a bit brighter, this could be kept in mind for a re-shoot or edited slightly with your image editor of choice. The shadows are good, but one is a bit unfortunate, in that it creates a leading line directly into the nostril. This is not a fixable mistake, although it does not by any means ruin the image.

IMPACT: 4.5 Stars

This image has a lot of impact. It draws the eye, the eyes are bright and make good camera contact and the overall contrast is strong. Mood and Story are felt when looking at this image, and it makes me want to know more about the subject (you). Other than some minor flaws this is a strong image and is a great change from the "camera held at arms length" or "camera shot into a mirror" self portrait that is so prevalent.

FINAL NOTES:

I would like to see more images from you like this. This is not un-original, but I think with the eye you have for colour, contrast and shape you could do something even more original, and that will lead to stronger images. Self Portraits can be hard for people to take seriously, so you really need to put your all into them if you want to see great response. You have a very strong start here, build on it and you'll be very happy with the results.
